Peanut Butter and Jelly Ice Cream
Hey guys. Yes- I’m still sharing recipes from last week’s party. To be honest, making 12 desserts for one night left me feeling a little burnt out. Between the planning and the prepping and the baking and photographing and the hand-washing all the dishes, the night ended with me as a baking zombie. :)
A week has gone by though, and I think I feel ready for some baking therapy. This last week has been a stressful one, and sometimes the act of mixing and scooping and rolling makes me feel better. When life drama has me to the point of wanting to stare at the wall and eat a pint of Ben and Jerry’s while listening to sad music, all it sometimes takes is whipping something up in my kitchen to bring me back to life a bit.
So, I after I finish typing this I am going to try. But for now, here is the wonderful ice cream that was almost everyone’s favorite.
PS- I wish I still had some of this left over, but since I don’t, one of the three pints of Ben and Jerry’s in my freezer will have to do. :)
Yum-this is perfect for the kids. David Lebovitz really has a knack for some delicious ice cream. I have yet to get his book and I appreciate you sharing this tasty recipe-especially since it is over 100 degrees outside. I could use something chilly and frosty!
your photos are absolutely gorgeous! i love this recipe!
I love peanut butter ice cream. It is like my two favorite foods together. Ice cream is the perfect stress reliever.
I think I need to take up running, just so I can make this ice cream every week. Love the colors it created!
I have to make this. I love peanut butter and jelly plus it’s always fun to hear my son sing the peanut butter jelly time song anytime I make a special treat with it.
wow, now just dish me up a bowl of that incredible creation! I never thought of adding preserves into my peanut butter ice cream, what a stroke of genius!
I’m a pretty huge fan of Ben & Jerry’s and that combo is beating all of them.
Still curious which flavors your have in the freezer though :)
I love this recipe Audra! Looks tasty and colorful..Great pictures too!!!!
This ice cream looks so cool! I’m a huge pb&j fan in the traditional sense, but I can’t even imagine how great it must be in ice cream form. Yum!!
Congratulations on making the Top 9. I’m sorry FoodBuzz is down. I have to say – PB&J is a classic and creative combo! Beautifully done!
Another friend just posted a cookie recipe that would pair really well with these! Or maybe it would be pb&j overload: http://saucyandbossy.wordpress.com/2011/07/17/peanut-butter-and-jelly-cookies/
